Processed crap that is. It's easy to become numb to foods laden with extra salt, fat, and sugar. In a world where preservatives and artificial colors are the norm, it takes extra effort to eat real food. So in the spirit of recalibrating our senses and getting into the kitchen, we're going unprocessed.
Unprocessed food is any food that could be made by a person with reasonable skill in a home kitchen with whole-food ingredients. Some call it "The Kitchen Test". If you find an ingredient on a label that you'd never use in your kitchen, and couldn't possibly make yourself, it is processed.
Don't have time to be in the kitchen? You don't have to make everything yourself, but if it is unprocessed, you hypothetically could.
This is nothing more than an awareness exercise. No obsessing, no strict rule following. Just a small pledge to yourself to identify individual ingredients in the food you eat and simply feel better. Take a chance and see how it changes you.
